On-Surface Synthesis Guided by Supramolecular Orientation on a Au(111) Surface
Résumé
Surface-assisted Ullmann coupling is a very common approach to
carry out on-surface synthesis. We investigated the deposition of
the 1,3,5-tris(4-bromophenyl)- benzene molecule on a Au(111)
surface at low temperatures. We observed a new supramolecular phase
using scanning tunneling microscopy, and we demonstrated that this
supramolecular organization promotes the formation of a
well-defined 1D covalent network through thermal annealing.
